This is the first issue of a new blog devoted to religious mystery novels. Over the past many decades, I have become enamored of authors like P. D. James, Umberto Eco, Faye Kellerman, and, yes, even Ellis Peters, who use religious themes to enhance their stories. Then I decided to try it myself and penned my first mystery novel,My Father’s Sins, about an Episcopal priest who must find a killer to save his own life and that of his ten-year-old son.
I invite your comment on such authors and/or their works. And perhaps even reviews of both old and new novels of the genre. Or if you have written such a novel and want to bring it to our attention, please do so, but no direct sales pitches, please.
If you would like to check out some of these books, check the right-hand column of this blog for links to over two hundred novels that fit the genre.
I look forward to having conversations with you. Happy reading and happy writing.
